Design 917 Gal O Gallee

This auxiliary yawl was constructed by Palmer Johnson of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She was launched in 1950. It is rumored that the boat was built on a time and materials basis due to the owners' insistence on meticulous attention to detail. As such she took over a year to construct.

She is built with oak frames, keel and deadwood with Honduras mahogany planking and bronze fasteners. Somewhat unusually hull strapping is of stainless steel.

Here are the plans.

LWL 33'-0"
Beam 11'-0"
Draft 6'-3"
