Design 2134 Northstar 80 20



Here's another by Hughes Boat Works of Ontario, Canada. The name refers to Hughes desire to develop a boat that is all about 80% sailing capability and 20% motoring capability. She was intended as a true blue water boat. The boat was introduced in 1973. Please note this design number directly preceded the Northstar 500, my previous posting.

Northstar 1000 Design 2098 C6



We've already posted an article about this design in a different iteration, but here is a later model based on this design, the 2098-C6 version: the Northstar 1000. It's a version built by Northstar Yachts of Ontario. She's basically a 1/2-tonner turned into a simple cruiser/racer, but still rated as a 1/2-tonner. She's built of fiberglass sandwich construction.

Design 2135 C3 Northstar 600


Back in July we posted an article about the Northstar 500, a racy looking little 1/4 tonner. The design was then developed into a cruising boat, and renamed the Northstar 600. The boat was also known as the Northstar 26 and later, the Hughes 26 once Hughes took over production. The production run began in 1975 and ended in 1977.
